Urban Stories Theatre is a new theatre company in Calgary, AB and we are seeking actors for our first show of our second season, NO WAY BACK (working title), written by Helen Young and directed by Kira Collins. For more information on Urban Stories Theatre see www.urbanstoriestheatre.org

Audition: July 4 & 5, 2013 6pm-9pm (Callbacks on July 12, 2013 6pm-9pm)

*Submission Deadline: Monday, July 1, 2013*

Location: Arrata Opera Centre, Calgary, AB

Rehearsal Times: 6:00pm-9:30pm (3 or 4 week nights starting in Aug 2013, dates subject to group consensus)

Performance Dates: Nov 5-8, 2013 at 8:00pm & Nov 9, 2013 at 2:00pm & 8:00pm at the EPCOR CENTRE’s Motel

If you are interested in auditioning, please send a headshot and resume via email with the subject “UST NWB AUDITION INQUIRY” to info@urbanstoriestheatre.org. Please include in the body of your email which character you are interested in auditioning for. Due to limited audition times, only those we wish to see for an audition will be contacted with more information and sides. Actors will be asked to prepare given character sides from the script. Actors should be available for all of the rehearsal dates and times because of the short intensive rehearsal period. *NOTE: This is a non-union, non-paying gig*

SYNOPSIS:

In a world where career choices come with fierce competition, marriage and family plans get put on hold for best friends Christine and Zoe. The aging runway model and rising lawyer stick together to make their dreams come true. Enter Adam, Christine’s almost perfect man. Once wedding plans heat up reality settles in for both ladies, and the battle for Adam takes centre stage. The road to “I do” can be longer than you think!

CHARACTERS:

CHRISTINE – (Female – 30’s) a model, materialistic, wants to have the ‘perfect life’ with her boyfriend ADAM

ZOE – (Female – 30’s) a lawyer, level headed, CHRISTINE’s best friend, thinks she may be falling for ADAM

ADAM – (Male – 30-40’s) works on the oil rigs, is considering quitting the rigs to settle down with CHRISTINE, is confused about his growing feelings for ZOE
