DARE TO GET LOST
50 emerging artists performing site-specific new works together in Old Strathcona, June 27-30, 2013
The Found Festival is BACK, with a crackling line-up of brand-spanking new works including dance, music, visual art, theatre, film, and creative writing. The only restriction? All pieces must occur outside of “traditional” locals— such as theatres or bars— and explore more unconventional spaces. Last year’s venues included a funeral home, garage, and public park. This year, witness pieces in back alleys, a van, the Railway Museum, and a residential apartment; featuring endurance art pieces, a raw chicken, and films after sunset!
“The Found Festival is exciting, challenging, and accessible, allowing for a new level of audience interaction and collaboration between artists.”
– Elena Belyea, Festival Producer
“It’s one of those cool ideas that makes everyone wonder “why hasn’t anyone thought of this before?””
– Liz Nicholls, EDMONTON JOURNAL
“Adventure and discovery can be as close as your own backyard if you’re willing to look for it.”
– Meaghan Baxter, VUE WEEKLY
This TEC (Theatre Engaging Communities) project was made possible through the financial support of the National Theatre School of Canada (www.ent-nts.ca).
The Found Festival is supported by the Edmonton Arts Council and the City of Edmonton
