Alberta playwright Arun Lakra has won the 2013-14 Woodward-Newman Drama Award for his play Sequence.
The award is sponsored by the Newman’s Own Foundation in memory of the stage work of Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward. Dr. Lakra receives $3,000, as well as $300 in travel money and a full production of his Sequence, which will have its American premiere in October.
Sequence won the 2011 Alberta Playwriting Competition (full length category) and received its World Premiere in 2013 with Downstage in Calgary.
