Auditions (Edmonton): Four Hip-Hop/Rap/Performer/Actors & One DJ

bomb-itty_posterLooking for 4 male hip-hop / rap / performer / actors and one DJ for a Fringe Festival production of Bomb-itty of Errors.

Originally an off-broadway hit, the show is a fast-paced, comic take on Shakespeare’s Comedy of Errors, performed as if The Beastie Boys got their hands on Shakespeare and slapped him around a little!

Bomb-itty of Errors will be performed during the Fringe Festival – August 15-25
Ten shows through the festival, dates and times are not scheduled yet.
Performed at the Varscona Theatre which is right on the Fringe Site – 10329 83 Ave, 170 seats. Great theatre, one of the best in the festival.

The four male performers should be able to carry a tune, being a musician/singer is a plus and being able to move is a must. Some acting experience is an asset but being a great performer is more important. Performers should be willing to be ridiculous, have a great sense of humour and perhaps wear a dress.

The DJ should be very musical as the option to score the show is open, should have own equipment.

Rehearsal times will be mostly in the evenings, some weekend day rehearsals are possible.

Rehearsals could start sometime in mid-July- but depends on cast availability. Expect more rehearsal as it gets closer to the festival.

This will be a “co-op” situation –  once expenses are paid, it will be an even split of the box office among the cast and crew which should be 5 or 6 people. There’s never any guarantee of making money at the Fringe, but the company has a good reputation. check out www.edmontonactorstheatre.com

Those interested should send contact info, a list of experience in performing or a resume, and if possible a sample of their work to horakbus@yahoo.com.

Thanks!
