News (Calgary): Calgary Arts Development set to present Calgary’s Arts Plan

calgary_arts_developmentCan you spare an hour on June 5 to build the momentum of Calgary’s arts scene?

June 5, 2013, 9:30am  – 11:30am
Engineering Traditions Committee Room, City Hall (800 Macleod Trail SE)

Calgary’s Arts Plan is being built by Calgarians and we have met hundreds of artists, arts administrators and interested citizens through the process. On June 5, Calgary Arts Development will present Arts Plan progress to date at a public meeting of The City of Calgary’s Standing Policy Committee on Community and Protective Services, and the public can attend to show their support and have the opportunity to speak for up to five minutes about their vision for the arts in Calgary. We need to come together as a community and collectively show our support for an integrated arts strategy for Calgary: the more people we have, the greater a statement we’ll make.

You can read the current overview of the Arts Plan online here and refer to this document for information about communicating with City Council and its Committees.

June 5 is an historic opportunity to shape the future of the arts in our city and it is your right to have your voice heard. Show up and make a difference!
