Walterdale Theatre presents its 2013-2014 Season
Where the Heart Lies
Edmonton, AB – Walterdale Theatre is proud to announce its 55th season, Where the Heart Lies, under the direction of new Artistic Director, Adam Mazerolle-Kuss. Adam is a 2001 graduate of the Grant MacEwan Theatre Arts Program and has over 15 years’ experience as an educator, actor, choreographer, dancer and singer. Walterdale Theatre is Edmonton’s longest-running community theatre, producing a full season of plays from its home in historic Fire Hall #6 in Old Strathcona with all creative and technical roles filled by volunteers who create theatre for love, not money.
This season we bring you mystery, mockery, math, murder and more.
Dracula by Steven Dietz from the novel by Bram Stoker runs October 16 – 26, 2013, and is directed by Darrell Portz. The original, the best and bloodiest vampire of them all.
Proof by David Auburn runs December 4 – 14, 2013, and is directed by Kristen M. Finlay. This 2001 Pulitzer Prize winning play asks the question: Is the difference between genius and madness a matter of proving your theory?
Blithe Spirit is Noël Coward’s classic ghostly comedy and runs February 5 – 15, 2014, and is directed by Curtis Knecht.
Stephen Sondheim’s A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, credited as one of the original musical comedies, runs April 2 – 14, 2014, and is directed by Walterdale’s incoming Artistic Director, Adam Mazerolle-Kuss.
From Cradle to Stage, Walterdale’s annual production of new work by new playwrights takes place May 12 – 17, 2014, and is an open door for new artists in Edmonton.
Jennie’s Story by Canadian playwright Betty Lambert runs July 2 – 12, 2014, and is directed by Alex Hawkins. Alberta hasn’t always been the land of opportunity for everyone.

We also offer a Flex Pass for $45 ($35 for Students/Seniors) plus applicable service charges which gives you 3 tickets in the season to use however you want.
