News: ADFA recognizes outstanding theatre work at 2013 Provincial Drama Festival

The Alberta Drama Festival Association (ADFA), in association with Windmill Theatre Players, hosted the 2013 Provincial Drama Festival on May 18 and 19 at the Highwood Memorial Centre in High River.

The Festival featured eight productions from across Alberta. Each production attending the Festival had competed and was named “Outstanding Production” within their own Regional Drama Festivals. The Festival is a celebration of the most exciting work being produced by community theatre groups across Alberta!

This year’s Festival was adjudicated by Marilyn Potts. The following productions/companies were recognized:

Outstanding Production
The Tighty Whities Present…. Death, presented by The Tighty Whities from Lethbridge.
(Honorable mentions: The Apple Kingdom, presented by Artists’ Collective Theatre from Calgary. Barefoot in Nightgown by Candlelight, presented by Downstage Bunnies from Fort McMurray.)

Outstanding Director 
Misty Oakes for Barefoot in Nightgown by Candlelight, presented by Downstage Bunnies from Fort McMurray.

Outstanding Female Actor

Outstanding Male Actor
Tyler Reinhold as Lizard in The Apple Kingdom, presented by Artists’ Collective Theatre from Calgary.
