Theatre Alberta is pleased to announce the creation of a new full scholarship to Artstrek in memory of our late Board Member and friend Keith Ewasiuk.
‘Mr. E’ taught drama at École Secondaire Beaumont Composite High School for 24 years and was a valued member of the Theatre Alberta Board of Directors from 2010 to his passing on July 8, 2012. The inaugural scholarship will be awarded to a student attending Artstrek 2013. 

The Keith Ewasiuk Memorial Award will be awarded to an Alberta student who exemplifies leadership in the LGBTQ community at their school or in their community. This student does not have to be the president of their school’s Gay/Straight Alliance or a vocal champion for gay rights; sometimes a quiet champion standing up to a bully is the best example of leadership. It is our hope to honour a student who is fearless, compassionate and deeply committed to equality and respect for all.
