APN has been offering Playwrights’ Circles for over 20 years and we consider it a cornerstone of our programming. The Playwright Circles offer playwrights an excellent opportunity to start and finish a first draft of a play or to continue working on a project that they’ve already started. It is designed to keep playwrights working in a focused and supportive environment.
Our Playwrights’ Circle participants find that:
- They are productive writers— with a deadline for new content every 2 weeks
- They have direction— with the support and feedback of veteran playwrights Gordon Pengilly and Conni Massing
- They have community— with the support of a close group of their peers (8max)
- They have experience— with a rehearsal and public reading of part of their circle project.
- They have motivation to keep going– with a consultation after the circle about their play
Cost: $300 (plus cost of membership for non-members)
