Assistant Professor in Theatre – Acting
Central Washington University seeks an Assistant Professor in Theatre with teaching, leadership skills and production experience in the areas of acting, directing beginning 16 September 2013. Some summer teaching opportunities may also be available.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
M.F.A. in Acting or Directing;
Solid training in a vocal methodology;
Significant training in one or more of the follow acting methods: Adler, Hagen, Meisner;
Three or more years of experience teaching acting at the university or as a master teacher on a professional level.

Duties include:
Teach 2-4 courses per quarter in undergraduate and graduate curriculum ;
Direct 1-2 productions per year in a variety of contexts which might include new plays, devised work, standard repertory theatre fare and musical theatre;
Assist in the recruiting, advising and mentoring students in the performance and musical theatre areas;
Maintain active professional work outside the university;
Serving on departmental and university committees.
