Classes (Calgary): Evening Drama Classes for Children and Youth – Rocky Mountain College

Rocky Mountain College is pleased to offer evening drama classes for children and youth. These classes will provide students with a unique opportunity to explore theatre skills with professional artists in an environment of fun and faith. Sessions will include a physical and vocal warm up, focused instruction and performance preparation.

Ages 9-12 Mondays 5:30 – 7:00 pm
January 14-May 6, 2013
Discover and explore a wide range of theatre techniques and skills including voice, movement, character, mask and improvisation through activities and performance.

Ages 13-18 Mondays 7:00-9:00 pm
January 14-May 6, 2013
Focus more closely on character development exploring both external physicalization and internal motivation through a variety of activities and performance preparation.

Instructor: James Popoff is a theatre artists and instructor who has worked extensively with youth and children and believes the artistic process and Christian discipleship provides a rich environment for personal growth.

James has taught at the U of C, Quest Theatre, Evergreen Theatre, Pumphouse Theatre and various camps. He is the founder of Burnt Thicket Theatre and holds an MFA from the U of C where he studied Solo Performance.
