DIRECTOR OF MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS AT VERTIGO THEATRE
Vertigo Theatre seeks a dynamic individual for the position of Director of Marketing & Communications. Reporting to the General Manager, this position is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating marketing and communication plans; ensuring that the mission and brand are accurately communicated; achieving ticket sales goals; carefully managing the Department’s resources; and all matters pertaining to media and advertising partnerships. A member of the Senior Management Team, this position is a key contributor to the vision of how the organization meets its short and long-term revenue objectives and maintains the functional responsibility for achieving earned revenue goals.
The successful candidate will value high integrity, maintain a positive outlook and display energy and enthusiasm. They will value building long-term relationships and partnerships. They will have strong communication skills, be people oriented and be action oriented. They will be a proven manager of people, sales campaigns, data and financial resources.
The ideal candidate will have no less than 3 years of experience in a senior arts marketing position. However, consideration will be given to interested candidates from outside the sector who have a love for live theatre coupled with a strong marketing background that includes loyalty-based programs and customer service. They will preferably have a related post-secondary degree or certificate.
Vertigo Theatre is a highly successful charitable society with an operating budget of $2.5M; of which 60% is derived from earned revenues. Its mission is to be a leader in developing, producing and presenting plays based in the mystery genre, and plays for young audiences, while providing a performance home for other organizations.
