Our building is now called C103 referencing Catalyst and our street Gateway Blvd, alternatively known as 103 St.
Catalyst Theatre is a creative, producing and touring entity while the building C103 is not only our year- round home base, but also a performance and rehearsal venue for many other Edmonton artists and organizations. Over the past several years Catalyst Theatre has accessed other Edmonton venues for our public activities in order to accommodate both increased attendance and scale of productions.
We love our home base, C103, and look forward to continuing our day-to-day work here and welcoming the many colleagues who use our venue.
NEW NAME FOR CATALYST THEATRE’S VENUE
Edmonton – Catalyst Theatre’s venue has been renamed and will be known as C103, representing Catalyst on 103 St. With the new name the venue continues, as previously, to be the home base from which Catalyst Theatre creates, produces and tours its highly successful original new works.
C103 is active approximately thirty weeks each year with performances and rehearsals by Edmonton’s theatre community and festivals. As Catalyst has evolved, reaching new audiences and increasing the scale of its work, the company typically is no longer performing in its 138 seat warehouse space. Renaming the venue clarifies the distinction between Catalyst’s productions and the building itself, which is home for many productions throughout the year by other artists and organizations in the community.
Catalyst Theatre is currently working on a new production, which will premiere in May 2013 at the Westbury Theatre in the TransAlta Arts Barns, following development and rehearsals at C103. We look forward to announcing details in the new year.
