Storm the Stage brings arts patrons onto the opera set
Not only is the Edmonton Opera recognizing the 200th anniversary of composer Verdi’s birth with the
production of Aida, but we’re also throwing a party.
The fifth annual Storm the Stage ― a party on the opera set ― will be held on Oct. 20, during a nonperformance night of Aida. Edmontonians are invited to experience Egypt on the Northern Alberta
Jubilee Auditorium stage during this unique arts event.
This year, Storm the Stage will feature performances by hip‐hop fusion artist Mitchmatic, alternative folk
trio F&M, and Edmonton Opera chorus members. Thread Hill will also put on a fashion show, featuring
garments that are perfect to wear to the opera, and pastries will be provided by Duchess Bake Shop.
Edmonton Opera’s Explorers and encore! social clubs are vibrant associations of young arts patrons in
the capital city, and provide accessible opportunities for young professionals to experience opera.
Members of both Explorers and encore! will receive $5 off their tickets.
Tickets are $25 and available online, at the opera box office at Tix on the Square or by calling 780‐429‐
1000. Doors open at 9 p.m.
