WP PUPPET THEATRE

PSSST- PUPPETS and SONG
celebrates curiousity and fosters imagination

PSSST – PUPPETS AND SONG is a fantastic double bill of Wendy Passmore-Godfrey’s whimsical “Pigs in a Canoe and Other Watery Puppet stuff ” puppet show and Peter Puffin’s popular “Whale Tales” concert. Peter is a Juno Award winning environmental singer – song- writer.

This event, for ages 4 and up, brings the ‘show to the people’ in four venues – McKenzie Lake Community Centre, Shaganappi Library, Cardel Theatre and Edgemont Community Theatre on the weekend dates of October 20th, 21st and Nov 3rd, 4th. Tickets are $10 per person. For performance times, tickets and more please click here.

In support of the ‘watery themes’ PSSST includes exhibits from CPAWS (Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society), CAWST (Centre for Affordable Water and Sanitation Technology) and Ducks Unlimited. Audiences can absorb science facts and fun as well as enjoy the interactive entertainment.

“Pigs in a Canoe” features hilarious stories, historical anecdotes, fascinating facts, interactive songs, sayings and axioms explore humankind’s intricate relationship with water. “It was refreshing to witness a performance that was so rich in poetry, history and storytelling, I also appreciated your lovely verbal sound effects, as I am sure the children did!” said a grade one teacher.

“Whale Tales” is a mischievous mix of story telling, interactive singing and original songs and tunes for guitar that combine to build environmental literacy and community capacity. “His songs and stories are uplifting, passionate and engaging. A thoroughly entertaining and inspiring experience” said an enthusiastic audience member after one concert.

WP Puppet Theatre Society has been “Animating the Spirit” in Calgary since 1991, with our family performances and learning opportunities. We are proud and grateful the PSSST is a Calgary 2012 GIGYYC project! : www.gigyyc.com
