The following announcement was posted on Company of Rogues Actors’ Studio’s website today. From all of us at Theatre Alberta, we wish Christianne Hirt and Joe-Norman Shaw the best of luck in all their future endeavors!
Company of Rogues Actors Studio continues to flourish in its’ 17th exciting year as Calgary’s most respected independent training centre for actors at all stages of their development. Rogues’ Studio has been a vital creative voice in the Calgary community, both through classes and productions, since 1996. While over the years we’ve enjoyed our creative home and it continues to thrive, we feel it’s finally time to move on and pursue other creative opportunities. Therefore, Studio Directors, Christianne Hirt and Joe-Norman Shaw, are currently considering relocation options in Toronto or Vancouver following the 2012-2013 Year of Study. This decision comes after much soul searching and with a lot of gratitude for all the success and support the studio has garnered from the community over the years.
It’s both with the sadness of leaving and the excitement of seeking new horizons that we’ve come to this transformative place. It is our hope that we have your support for our journey, as we also hope that we’ve been a support to yours. As for the future of Company of Rogues in Calgary and beyond, that is yet to be determined.
Therefore, the 2012-2013 Year of Study is the last year you will be able to study with Christianne and Joe in our Calgary studio. We look forward to this next year of fostering your artistic growth. To all Rogues’ students past and present, both Christianne and Joe are deeply grateful for having the opportunity to work with you and share in your creative journey. It’s our intention that the final year at Rogues is our most exciting, dynamic and successful.
