On August 23rd, the City of Edmonton announced a new neighbourhood has been named in honour of the founder of the Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival, Brian Paisley.
The Paisley neighbourhood is located in the Heritage Valley area in southwest Edmonton and will be home to over 3000 people when fully developed.
“The Fringe Festival is one of Edmonton’s most loved annual events for citizens and visitors, alike. It is thanks to the innovative thinking, creativity and dedication of individuals such as Mr. Paisley that Edmonton has such a strong reputation as a festival city,” says David Weir, Chair of the City’s Naming Committee.
