The Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival announced on their Facebook page that 112,006 Fringers took in this year’s Festival’s indoor performances, the Village grew to 680,000 visitors, and 2012 marks the first year ticket sales generated more than $1 million in revenue for artists.

“Edmonton is coming out to enjoy the fringe in record levels,” notes Fringe Theatre Adventures executive director Jill Roszell. “This is the biggest festival that we’ve ever had, literally in terms of numbers of venues and numbers of shows. It is an ever-growing fringe and there is a challenge in order to offer the same level of service and to be able to sustain and manage an ever growing festival.”
