Carrion”is a dark surrealist anti-romance that explores life’s heartache and loneliness, through the experience of two strangers. In “Carrion,” a young man, suffering from the death of a lover, hires an escort for the night. Aside from the intimacy, he has something more in mind. Hoping to end his agony, he asks her to cut out his heart. The play explores the themes of love, loss, heartbreak, and compassion. It is a timely and relevant new work by local playwright Alastair Robertson, in his debut at the 2012 Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival.
