Never Get Smart With an Angel

Auditions will be held on Sunday July 22 @ 2:00 pm and Wednesday July 25 @ 7:00 pm at the Leduc Drama Society playhouse. All actors will be asked to read from the script.

Production dates will be various weekends through October and November in varied locations – actual dates and locations to be determined.

Character descriptions:

· Salvatore Bustebrizzio – Male 50s – Italian immigrant shoe maker with fiery temper, almost stereotypically Italian, must be able to do Italian pronunciations.
· Carmine Sostenuto – Male 50s – also an Italian immigrant and a bit foppish, Salvatore’s best friend and usual lightning rod to Sal’s temper.
· Paolo Bustebrizzio – Male late 20s – Sal’s son and much more “American” than his father. A doctor in love.
· Lucia Bustebrizzio – Female 40s-50s – Sal’s late wife and attending angel for the past 7 years. A good Match for Salvatore.
· Dorothy Boothe – Female 20s – the love of Paolo who endears all, including Salvatore.
· John Boothe – Male 50ish – Scott-Irish Dorothy’s father. As ‘American’ as Salvatore is immigrant, a banker, he is proper, soft spoken and slightly standoffish.

It is important that the characters portray their ethnicity – especially Sal, Carmine, and Lucia – but physical appearance is not important.
