Taxation Information Session for Artists

The Edmonton Arts Council is pleased to invite Edmonton area artists to an information session on taxes geared towards the arts professional.

Janis Richards from the Canada Revenue Agency, will cover topics such as being self-employed, record keeping, business income, eligible expenses, GST treatment, inventory, audits and important dates.

Janis has worked for Canada Revenue Agency for 32 years as an income tax auditor, and became involved in the arts community about 10 years ago when she helped manage her daughter’s singing career.

The session will provide information that is relevant to artists of all genres and creative practices. Arts administrators, support and technical staff are also welcome.

The Edmonton Arts Council hosts this presentation by Ms. Richards, who is appearing on behalf of the Canada Revenue Agency outreach program.
