Vertigo Theatre seeks a dynamic individual for the position of Technical Director. Reporting to the Production & Facility Manager, the Technical Director is responsible for overseeing all technical elements for productions produced and/or presented for its two series, Vertigo Mystery Theatre and Y Stage, as well as Venue Rentals.
The successful candidate will possess a broad working knowledge of all elements of theatre production; be a graduate of a recognized training program or have equivalent professional experience; and have minimum of three years experience as a Technical Director. He/she will be action-oriented with superior interpersonal, project management, supervisory, technical drawing and technical skills in lighting, sound, sound recording and special effects.
Vertigo Theatre is a successful theatre company with an operating budget of $2.5M. Its Production Department is made up of six positions: Production & Facility Manager, Technical Director, Assistant Production Manager, Assistant Technical Director, House Technician – The Playhouse and House Technician – The Studio. Set construction, props, and wardrobe are all contracted to outside contractors.
