FINE ARTS TECHNICIAN III – PROPERTIES MASTER
The University of Lethbridge Department of Theatre & Dramatic Arts requires the services of a qualified Fine Arts Technician III (Properties Master). This is a full time, sessional position, (approximately mid August to mid May).
Reporting to the Technical Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for building properties, furniture and set dressing for stage productions in the Department of Theatre & Dramatic Arts. The Department mounts four main stage productions and the incumbent may be required to assist in other small production activities for the Faculty of Fine Arts. The incumbent will also be required to work closely with students in a supervisory role for production classes. Other duties as assigned.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $4,153.00 – $4,703.00
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate must have a two-year College diploma and at least 2 years prior related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and the ability to perform manual duties including strenuous physical exertion. Excellent carpentry skills, advanced skills in reading construction drawings, and experience with a variety of materials required to construct properties are required. The ability to follow instructions, work toward deadlines and operate a safe and efficient shop is essential. Experience in an academic theatre environment would be an asset. The successful candidate must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, other employees, and students, and must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
