Announcement: Keyano Theatre 2012-2013 Season

Keyano Theatre Company (KTC) is proud to announce the 2012/2013 TELUS 4-Play Drama Series Season.

The up-coming season promises to be full of intensity, emotions, community spirit and hilarity, as the theatre company is embracing a homegrown approach. The core focus will be on Great Stories which captivate, invigorate and inspire us, and Real People who will bring these stories to life by sharing their time, passion and talent.

KTC presents 4 productions that have never been done in the 33-year history of Keyano Theatre Company. Local participation will reach new heights as talented residents join seasoned KTC alums and professionals who now call Wood Buffalo home to share these diverse and dynamic stories.

In the fall, the season will open with Extremities, an intense and thrilling theatrical experience. First performed on Broadway in the 80’s featuring the incredible Susan Sarandon, this brutally honest play written by William Mastrosimone was later adapted into a movie starring Farrah Fawcett.

Tim Firth’s Calendar Girls is taking the world by storm this year, attempting to break the Guinness World Record for most productions of a play in one year. KTC will join this noble effort, sharing this heart-warming and hilarious story with our community, a story that was made famous on the big screen in a recent film adaptation starring Helen Mirren.

In an unparalleled quest to put our great stories and real people under the lights, Keyano Theatre Company is proud to produce Hometown…The Musical! With a local cast of over 100 people integrating Wood Buffalo stories, great live music, sensational dance and multi-media, this is a story of US that promises big spirit and big fun.

The season will close in the late spring with Bedtime Stories, a raucous bedroom farce by Norm Foster, one of the most-produced Canadian playwrights in history. This is a saucy little number that promises a scintillating end to a sensational season.

Keyano Box Office has started sales for the 4-Play Subscription Package. This is a great deal that includes tickets for all 4 plays for about $100.
