Call for Performers for 2012-13
General Auditions

Theatre Encounter is an alternative experimental theatre company looking for dynamic performers for its productions.

We do a type of performance that often mixes all art forms, and is based on physical interpretations of the text. As such, actors, dancers, singers and / or musicians are encouraged to apply (although past training in dancing, singing or music is not mandatory). Productions are highly physical, and use varied forms of theatre to visually express the text. The rehearsal period is often in-depth and extended, and there is usually a training period that is prior / part of the process to introduce these variances.

We are also seeking new company members, to be part of an ensemble.

If you are interested in auditioning, or becoming a company member, email us with a very brief introduction about yourself and your interests, and attach a good-quality headshot and resume. Please name your file attachments as: “yourname-actingresume.doc” or “yourname-headshot.jpg”. Alternatively you can post it to our mailing address. See the website for further info on preparation.

Shows are currently slated for performance in November 2012, and March 2013, at the Theatre Junction Grand.

Upcoming Productions:
* Heart of Darkness, by Joseph Conrad. We are looking for 2 main actors in the show: Kurtz and Marlow. Men or Women who can play the part. Actors should be interested / comfortable with physical movement.
* The Fence in its Thousandth Year, by Howard Barker.

Auditions: May 6th (during the day) and 7th (during the eve), 2012.
