Calgary-based musician, theatre artist and writer Kris Demeanor has been named 2012 Calgary Poet Laureate.
The Calgary Poet Laureate will compose and present poetry for official City of Calgary occasions, raise awareness of local issues through commissioned works and act as an ambassador for the arts in Calgary. Click here for the news release.
Kris recently contributed an essay to Theatre Alberta’s All Stages magazine about alternative musical theatre creation practises entitled “The Egg.” Kris is currently working on projects with Calgary musical theatre composer David Rhymer (Crime Does Not Pay) and Verb Theatre (Noise).
