Calgary Reading Series- The Basement Boys by Steven Owad

Three young men who live in their parent’s basements struggle in making the jump to adulthood.  Video games, drugs and macho camraderie stand in for meaningful human relationships (even with one another). How can they grasp maturity when they’ve spent years without challenging themselves or seeking out real life?

About Steven Owad:

When he’s not writing novels, Steven works in many other genres. His plays include Patricide and Heartland, and his feature-length dramatic screenplays include Sons of the Fathers.

Steven’s short fiction and poetry can be found in literary magazines in the United States and Canada and on the web. In his former life as a journalist, Steven published hundreds of feature stories and arts reviews.

Steven has lived in Thailand and Poland. He now resides in Calgary, Canada, with his wife, Aleksandra, and his daughter, Sara.
