Keyano Theatre, located in Fort McMurray Alberta at Keyano College, is seeking a Wardrobe Supervisor.

The position is for the last two productions of the 2011-12 Season: Chicago and The Farnsworth Invention. The successful candidate we be very organized and an excellent communicator who loves to work in an environment of mixed professional and community volunteers. 

The Wardrobe Supervisor shall oversee all aspects of the costume department to complete all costume requirements as designed for the productions. Duties shall include but not limited to buying, building/modifying, sewing, dying and planning maintenance for the performance run. They shall work closely with the costume designers to execute the designs for the shows while staying within the set budget and labour available.

The Wardrobe Supervisor will supervise and instruct volunteers and students working on the production in the craft of theatre wardrobe. They shall foster the community aspect of the company by continuing to support and increase volunteer interest and involvement in the wardrobe shop. They shall also supervise local casual workers. The Wardrobe Supervisor will operate the shops in a clean and safe manner, presenting a safe working environment. They will also be responsible for coordinating all makeup and hair requirements for the productions. The Wardrobe Supervisor may be required to assist others in other departments depending on the specific needs that may come up from time to time. They shall prepare all information require to maintain the show during the performance run by either stage management or local casual crew.

The Wardrobe Supervisor shall be willing to work flexible hours and weekends around Volunteer calls and availability. The Shop will generally run Wed through Sunday 35 hours per week. Schedule can be flexible.

Contract days:
Chicago: 7 weeks between the dates of January 4th – February 17th. 
The Farnsworth Invention: 5 weeks between the dates of March 21st – April 27th. 
Rate: $18-$22 per hour, plus accommodation if required: commensurate with experience.
