The Polish Culture Society of Edmonton is pleased to announce its multimedia evening entitled:
Czesław Miłosz: Citizen of the World.
The event, held on Sunday, 16 October at the Yardbird Suite (11 Tommy Banks Way), is part of the Festival of Polish Culture 2011, which runs in Edmonton until 6 November.
This is a multimedia event celebrating the genius of Czesław Miłosz, the 1980 Nobel Prize winner in literature. Polish poet and writer who received Nobel Prize in 1980, Milosz emigrated to the United States in 1960 and continued writing in Polish and English, while working as a professor at the University of California, Berkeley. UNESCO is celebrating the 100th anniversary of his birth in 2011.
The presentation, based on a script by the award-winning Edmonton writer and critic Jan Mamos, features exciting selections from the author’s vast opus of poetry and prose, with additional soundtrack and visual component.
Czesław Miłosz: Citizen of the World is presented on Sunday, 16 October, at 7:30 P.M., at the Yardbird Suite (Old Strathcona, 11 Tommy Banks Way). Tickets are $20 (adults) and $10 (seniors and students) are available from Tix on the Square and at the door.
