Announcement (Alberta): New Minister of Culture and Community Services

Premier Alison Redford has announced her new Cabinet.

Heather Klimchuk (Edmonton-Glenora) has been named Minister of Culture and Community Services. She will replace Lindsay Blackett, who served under former Premier Ed Stelmach.

Theatre Alberta would like to extend a warm welcome to Ms. Klimchuck to her new post; we look forward to working with you to promote the development of theatre across the province!

Other notable cabinet posts include:

  • Thomas Lukaszuk (Edmonton-Castle Downs) will be Minister of Education
  • Greg Weadick (Lethbridge-West) will be Minister of Advanced Education and Technology
  • Doug Griffiths (Battle River-Wainwright) will be Minister of Municipal Affairs
  • Jack Hayden (Drumheller-Stettler) will be Minister of Tourism, Parks and Recreation
