To get the inside scoop, register for one of two Drama Demonstrations
The U of A Open House is a full-day event for future students to experience what the U of A has to offer. Students (and parents) can chat with representatives from faculties, departments, student services, and clubs from all over campus in one location – the Butterdome Booth Fair.
If you are interested in learning more about the University’s Department of Drama, register by October 19 to guarantee your spot in a Drama demo. Email Joanna at krupicz@ualberta.ca with the following info:
• Your name
• School name
• Choice of demonstration group (choose Group 1 or 2)
• Number of guests (parents/siblings/friends) that will be with you
Demo Group 1
This is the group for students who are interested in acting, directing, playwriting, and drama history and theory, and who are interested in one or more of the following programs:
• BFA Acting
• BA Drama Major
• BA Honors Drama
• BA/BEd Combined
You’ll get to see what students in these programs are doing in their classes (e.g. fight choreography and monologues), see our performance and rehearsal spaces, and get your questions answered by current students.
Demo Group 2
This is the group for students who are interested in what goes on behind the scenes, and who are interested in one or more of the following programs:
• BFA Theatre Design
• BFA Technical Theatre – Stage Management
• BFA Technical Theatre – Technical Production
Tour the backstage areas of our theatres, get up close with set models, costume sketches, and sound and lighting equipment. You’ll also get to hear from current students about what it’s like to be in these specialized programs.
