It is with pleasure that I announce today the appointment of Anne-Marie Des Roches as Associate Director and Senior Policy Advisor of the Canadian Conference of the Arts (CCA).
Anne-Marie comes to the CCA with an impressive background. Having started her career at Radio-Canada in Ottawa and Winnipeg (1979-84), she then became a policy analyst at the Department of Communications (1984-89) and later moved over to the CRTC where she was successively director for radio (1989-94) and manager for French language broadcasting (1994-98). In 1998, she returned briefly to Radio-Canada where she worked for the Office of the Vice President of Television. From 2000 to 2009, she was director of public affairs, public relations and communications for the Union des Artistes (UDA). Recently, she worked successively as parliamentary assistant to the Bloc Québécois Heritage and Human Resources critics.
I am confident that her experience, energy and various skills will be of great support to the CCA as it faces important challenges and opportunities in the coming years. Anne-Marie will start her new position at the beginning of August. As Senior Policy Advisor, she will be replacing Jessica Litwin, who has done a remarkable job over the past three years. Jessica will be leaving the CCA in mid-August to follow her partner to London, England.
Please join me in welcoming Anne-Marie to our ranks and in wishing all the best to Jessica in this exciting episode of her life!
